Compass Community
Byron Center, MI
I have a confession to make.
I haven't been sleeping well lately.
It isn't that I've had too much coffee (I drink decaf). It isn't because I am snacking on cheesecake after 8:00 p.m. (I prefer popcorn). It isn't because I am not tired (trust me,
I am).
I haven't been sleeping well lately because I can't stop thinking about all that God has done in these initial days in and through Compass Church.
I can't stop thanking God for the blast that we have had on our first two weekends as a church.
I can't stop thinking about the conversations I've had with people over the last couple weeks, "this is the best thing to happen in Byron Center in a long time", "I have been
praying for a place like this", "my kids enjoyed Compass Kids so much, we had to come back."
I can't stop thinking about how thankful I am for people like Josh McNall who leads worship with a rare humility and Tonya Dykema who has an enthusiasm for kids that is contagious.
I can't stop thanking God for the volunteers who "roll up their sleeves" and serve.
I can't stop thanking God for churches like Kentwood Community who have stepped forward and offered support in extreme ways.
I can't stop thinking about the fact that he driving force in launching Compass Church is a vision to see people become worshippers of our great God and King. It's an unwavering belief that God is willing and able to build a church that will impact the nations for His glory through making disciples in this community.
I just can't stop thanking God for the opportunity to be a part of this cause for His kingdom.
Somewhere around 12:00 a.m. I usually fade, but not before thanking God for the men, women and children who are a part of Compass Church and praying that above all else we will keep
Jesus at the center of all we do.
